Just Eloped at Holualoa Bay

Photography by Gerald Besson. Ceremony by Kona Wedding Officiant. Location: Holualoa Bay, Big Island of Hawaii

Alex and Michael are originally from China and both work as software engineers in Seattle. They came to Hawaii on vacation with their friends. Michael proposed and they decided to get married on the spot.

They chose to elope at Holualoa Bay next to the Living Stones Church on Ali'i drive. The shore is rugged with old lava beaten by the surf and the location always provides a very dramatic setting with gorgeous sunsets.

The event allowed for a pre-ceremony photo session and I immediately spotted a really great location. The sky was overcast offering a soft light and calling for dramatic moody pictures. Alex and Michael were very well dressed and easy to coach into posing. I had the perfect combination.

The big moment had arrived and it was time to move into the ceremonial part of the wedding with Deanna at Kona Wedding Officiant. In Hawaii and following the tradition, the blowing of Pu'u marks the beginning of the ceremony.

“Alex and Michael, I wish you a long life filled with harmony, joy and wealth.”

We wish Alex and Michael a long life filled with joy, health and good fortune.

After the ceremony, it was time for celebration.
